Regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Designs for Office and Public Buildings in Tropical Climates, held in Saint Lucia from February 28 to March 1, 2013

Within the contract that TTA has executed since August 2012, this Workshop was organized by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Energy Efficiency Working Group of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) and facilitated by members of the team of consultants and a consultant from Mexico (Comisión Nacional para el Uso Eficiente de la Energía-CONUEE). The Workshop was attended by about 30 participants from the various institutions and countries concerned by the project.  Jaume Serrasolses, Project Director and Unai Arrieta, Project Coordinator, were the workshop facilitators from TTA:

The Objectives of the workshop were:  to strengthen the local capacity of the National Standards Bodies concerning the requirements on energy efficiency (EE) standards needed to establish the regional EE standards;   provide the support and guidance regarding the opportunities and barriers with respect to the use and deployment of EE measures and RE conversion technologies in office and public buildings in the Caribbean Region;  to discuss program implementation and share lessons learned among delegates and technical experts, in order to establish institutional links and coordination mechanisms with other ECPA EE activities.
